No damnnit, I do not have a sick fetish for pretending to be a chick online and trick desperate, nerdy guys on the internet.

It's just that being polite and putting the occasional smiley somehow instantly makes you a likely candidate for being a girl. FFS people, GIRL = Guy In Real Life. The only way you can ascertain the gender of the person you're speaking to is through a bloody WEBCAM.

So every other day on WoW I have people trying to "hit" on me just because I play a female blood elf and speak politely? Shit, I knew I shoulda rolled a burly orc instead >_>.

There's this fella from Australia who's goddamned sold that I'm a girl, even after my guildmate told him

"I've heard Avalyn on vent, and he's definitely a guy. Trust me."

He's deluded, really. Lol. But then again, he's really nice so I never did have the heart to tell him the truth.

Problem is, one assumption leads to another, so the shytty hole gets real deep.

Then just today, another guy whispered me and after a few lines he tells me

"You know, I like little girls."

WTF? I mean bloody hell, you don't tell people this. Too much information FTL.

So yeah, Ian has a bloody online personality alright. Be nice to people and look where that brings you. Desperate guys crawling all over you trying to get under your (virtual) skirt. No wonder guys on PCs have such a bad rep? Or no wonder the gender ratios of MMORPG players are eschewed so heavily towards the male demographic.

"R u a girl IRL?"

I oughta just reply 'fuck off' next time. Really.
